Alex Crane is a Brooklyn linen house that dresses like it lives in Delray Beach. Linen, organic cotton and merino, nothing else. Relaxed cuts, coconut buttons, faded stripes. Of the eighteen brands I checked for a coastal closet, it is the one most likely to become a repeat order.

Seven pieces, the final-sale trap to avoid, and three ways to wear the shirt the brand is known for. Checked on the brand’s site on September 21, 2026. This post contains commissionable links. Images were made with AI from the brand’s product photos.

Sizing and the final-sale trap

The 6 foot 2 model wears a large, so a large is right for most men who wear large elsewhere. Pants stop at a 34 waist, which means a 35 or 36 sizes down into the relaxed cut or shops elsewhere.

Some items carry “Final Sale” in the description: the Camp Shirt, Twill Shirt, Pac Shirt and Twill Zip Jacket when I checked. None of the picks below are final sale, but read the description before you buy anything else.

Sun Tee

The Sun Tee in Bone is 100 percent knit linen from Normandy flax, pre-shrunk, $78, also in slate, night and dusk. Relaxed. The brand calls it soft as a vintage tee and light as air, which is fair. The base layer for everything else here.

Ola Shirt

The Ola Shirt in Lines is European linen, $158, also in Big Wave. A relaxed short-sleeve camp collar with coconut buttons. The faded blue and white stripe is the beach-to-dinner shirt. Three ways to wear it are below.

Knit Polo

The Knit Polo in Lines is 50 percent linen, 50 percent organic cotton, $148. Relaxed, open collar, coconut buttons. A striped, lived-in knit polo for anyone who already owns the solid ones.

Cloud Flannel

The Cloud Flannel in Indigo Lines is peached organic cotton, $148, also in night lines and honey lines. The 5 foot 10 model wears medium. A soft striped flannel that works two-buttons-done over a henley through fall. One note: the product feed also tags it merino, so check the label when it arrives.

Kite Jacket

The Kite Jacket in Lines is European linen, $208, also in dusk, bone, chalk and night. True to size, two front pockets, interior chest pocket. A striped linen chore-style jacket, the warm-weather answer to a denim jacket.

Bay Sweater

The Bay Sweater in Indigo is 100 percent Punjab organic cotton in a chunky rib, $148, also in charcoal, pine and bone. Easy fit. Layers over a tee or a camp shirt without the weight of wool. The shoulder-season knit.

Caza Crewneck

The Caza Crewneck in Juniper is heavyweight organic cotton slub rib at 365 gsm, $118, garment-dyed and well washed, also in wave, jade, slate and cream. Easy fit. The faded denim-blue crew that sits with terry hoodies as the heavier, washed option.

Three ways to wear the Ola Shirt

Open over the Sun Tee for the beach. Buttoned except the top button and untucked for lunch. Buttoned and tucked with a brown belt for dinner. The linen camp shirt guide compares it against three others.

Frequently asked questions

Is Alex Crane all linen?

Linen, organic cotton and merino. Nothing synthetic in the line when I checked, which makes it the cleanest fiber story of any brand I looked at.

Does Alex Crane run big?

Relaxed by design. The 6 foot 2 model wears a large. Buy your normal size; sizing down pulls the camp collar.

Is Alex Crane worth the price?

At $78 for a 100 percent knit linen tee and $158 for a European linen camp shirt, it is priced under most linen competitors. The Faloni Portofino, for comparison, is $260.

What should I buy first from Alex Crane?

The Ola Shirt in Lines. It is the piece the brand is known for and the one that does three jobs.
