The 2026 Gift Guide is live

Style & Serum covers menswear first, plus the grooming and wellness worth keeping. Here is how each review and guide gets made, who does the testing and how the site earns money.

Who tests

Lars Miller runs Style & Serum and does the testing himself. He only writes that he owns, wears or used something when he does.

What a hands-on review means

A post marked Tested & Reviewed covers products Lars used himself. For grooming, that means at least two weeks of use before he rates anything. For clothing he owns, the review says what he owns and how he wears it.

How we research buying guides

Many guides cover more pieces than one person can own, and those posts say so plainly. Every pick is checked on the brand’s own site on the date shown at the bottom of the post. We look at:

If a fact can’t be checked on the brand’s site, it stays out of the post.

How we pick brands

Natural fibers come first. A little stretch is fine in jeans and travel pants, and we call it out. Pieces with more than trace synthetics need a good reason to make a list. Fair pricing for the quality and a clear return policy matter too.

How we make money

Some links on Style & Serum are affiliate links. When you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The links run through LTK, ShopMy, Kutoku, Awin and Skimlinks. Every post with these links says so near the top.

Brands can’t buy a spot on a list or a better verdict. If a brand ever sends a product for free, the review will say so.

Photos

Photos credited to Unsplash come from Unsplash photographers. Some styled images on the site were made with AI from a brand’s own product photos. They show how a piece can be worn. They are not a record of a wear test.

How we update

Prices and stock are checked on the day a post publishes and again whenever it is updated. The date of the last check sits at the bottom of each post. When a pick sells out, changes fiber content or jumps in price, we update or replace it.

Frequently asked questions

Do brands pay for reviews?

No. Brands can’t pay for a place on a list or a better verdict. Style & Serum earns a commission when you buy through some links, at no extra cost to you. That income comes through affiliate networks such as LTK and ShopMy, and it doesn’t decide which pieces make the cut.

How often are reviews updated?

Every post is checked on the day it publishes and again at each update. Seasonal guides are refreshed before their season. The bottom of each post shows when prices and stock were last checked on the brand sites. That tells you how current it is.
