Why it exists
This site starts with the label. Our menswear guides focus on fiber content, fabric weight when the brand publishes it, and price. Individual reviews distinguish personal wear from research.
Natural fibers come first: cotton, linen, hemp, wool, silk and cashmere. When a piece carries more than a trace of polyester or nylon, the guide says so.
Who is behind it
Lars Miller writes and edits every guide. He lives in Florida, so much of what he wears has to handle heat.
Pieces in his own rotation include Faherty Belmar workshirts, Sunwashed tees and Cloud Henleys, Buck Mason Pima and Slub tees, Todd Snyder cashmere and knit polos, SeaVees sneakers and AG jeans. His Todd Snyder review covers two years of buying the brand.
How the testing works
Hands-on claims apply to the specific products Lars describes using. Buying guides can also include researched products he has not tried; a comparison or page label does not mean every item was personally tested. The full method is on the How we test page.
How the site makes money
Some links are affiliate links. If you buy through one, Style & Serum may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Brands cannot buy a place in a guide. Current brand codes are on the discount codes page.
