Jungmaven has been making hemp clothing in Los Angeles since before hemp was a marketing word. Every piece is hemp and organic cotton, mostly a 55/45 blend, garment-dyed in a range of sun-washed earth tones. If you own a hemp tee from anyone else and liked it, this is the brand to build the rest of the drawer from.
Seven pieces for a coastal closet, the sizing trap to avoid, and what the fabric does over time. Checked on the brand’s site on September 21, 2026. This post contains commissionable links. Images were made with AI from the brand’s product photos.
The sizing trap
Jungmaven mixes unisex and women’s-sized styles into the men’s pages. The Catalina, Faria, Padaro and Phinney all say men should size up. Stick to items marked Men’s Sizing and you avoid the problem. All sale styles are final sale.
Baja Tee
The Baja Tee is 55 percent hemp, 45 percent organic cotton, 7 oz, $62, in fifteen colors. Classic fit, men’s sizing. The heavier midweight hemp tee, and the piece to buy first. Stucco beige, coyote and navy work with everything.
Fields Polo
The Fields Polo is the same blend in 7 oz pique, $110, in twelve colors. Slightly relaxed, three-button, split hem, men’s sizing. Slubby and garment-dyed.
Topanga Shirt
The Topanga Shirt is 10 oz hemp twill in coyote, pistachio or navy. Classic fit with roomy shoulders; wear it as a jacket. It was on final-sale markdown at $169 from $242 when I checked, with several colors XL and XXL only. Confirm your size before ordering.
Olympic Jacket
The Olympic Jacket is 10 oz hemp twill, garment-dyed, $242, in eleven colors. Classic French chore jacket cut with patch pockets. Unisex, with large in stock in most colors. The coastal alternative to a denim studio jacket.
Beach Jacket
The Beach Jacket is 45 percent hemp, 55 percent cotton yarn-dyed plain weave at 6.3 oz, in red, white and blue stripe or light blue and white stripe. Midweight, curved hem, four pockets, men’s sizing. On final-sale markdown at $176 from $293 when I checked. A striped unlined overshirt that reads 1970s California.
Zephyr Sweatshirt
The Zephyr Sweatshirt is $176 in deep teal, coffee bean, deep indigo and nine other colors. Hemp and organic cotton fleece. The one for a cool night on the water when a terry hoodie is too warm.
Pacific Coast Pant
The Pacific Coast Pant is $264 in coyote, deep indigo and olive green. Hemp and organic cotton with a drawstring waist. The bottom half of an all-hemp fit.
What hemp does after ten washes
Day one, a 7 oz hemp jersey is crisper than cotton, with a slight dry hand. By the fifth wash it is softer than a cotton tee of the same weight. By the twentieth it is the softest thing in the drawer, and the collar and hem are still square. Hemp fiber is longer and stronger than cotton, which is why it keeps its shape. The hemp shirts guide compares hemp with linen and cotton.
Frequently asked questions
Is Jungmaven made in the USA?
Cut and sewn in Los Angeles, with hemp and organic cotton fabric. It is one of the few hemp brands that manufactures domestically at this scale.
Does Jungmaven run small?
Men’s-sized styles fit true to a classic cut. Unisex and women’s-sized styles run small for men; the brand says to size up on those. One reviewer notes the Baja is a bit small in the shoulders.
Is hemp clothing scratchy?
Not at 55 percent hemp and 45 percent organic cotton. Pure hemp canvas is stiff; hemp jersey is soft after a few washes.
What should I buy first from Jungmaven?
The Baja Tee in stucco beige at $62. It shows what the fiber does, and the price makes it an easy test.
