The Jungmaven Pacific Coast Pant makes sense if you want a relaxed trouser in substantial hemp-cotton twill. The decision starts with the cloth: this is a 10 oz pant, so think casual workwear rather than a thin linen beach trouser. Its drawstring waist gives the otherwise simple shape a laid-back finish.

Research note: This buying guide draws on Jungmaven’s product information and policies, checked October 19, 2026. It covers fit considerations and styling suggestions; it does not claim a personal wear or wash test. See how we research and review. Some links earn us a commission at no cost to you.

The Jungmaven brand guide covers the wider wardrobe. Here, the focus is the pant: what you get, how to approach sizing, when to consider the lighter Traverse, and three ways to wear it.

Who it suits and how to choose

Consider it for a casual wardrobe built around tees, overshirts, knit polos and simple jackets. The straight leg offers a different silhouette from a tapered chino, while the drawstring works with an untucked top. It is an option for someone who wants the cloth to have some substance and prefers a hemp-cotton blend.

If your brief is a close-fitting office trouser, a stretchy training pant or the lightest possible travel layer, start with those requirements instead. A fabric’s fiber name cannot settle its comfort in heat. Compare weight, construction, fit and the conditions you will wear it in. For a different approach to relaxed trousers, the linen pants guide is a useful place to look.

At this price, the important question is whether the cut fills a gap in your wardrobe. Plan a few outfits with pieces you already own before ordering. If you cannot picture reaching for it regularly, the material alone is a weak reason to spend more.

How to approach the fit and size chart

Use the Size Chart on the Pacific Coast product page, rather than applying advice for a Jungmaven tee or a different pant. The brand’s men’s-sizing label identifies the sizing system; it is not a guarantee that your usual letter size will fit.

  1. Choose the color you want and check its available sizes. Product photographs can help you judge the intended silhouette, but model height alone cannot tell you your size.
  2. Read whether each chart measurement refers to the body or the garment, and whether a waist number is a flat width or full circumference.
  3. Compare like with like. If the chart gives garment dimensions, measure a pair you already like using the same method. Check the waist, rise, thigh and inseam where those measurements are supplied.
  4. Allow for the fit you actually want through the seat and thigh. Tightening a drawstring adjusts the waist; it cannot change the leg shape or create room elsewhere.
  5. If the chart leaves a key measurement unclear, ask Jungmaven before ordering. An existing pair’s size label is a starting point, not a measurement.

Try the pants on indoors with the shoes and tops you intend to wear. Sit, walk and check the hem before removing tags or washing. Keep the return terms in mind when choosing between sizes, particularly on a marked final-sale color.

Pacific Coast vs Traverse: heavier twill or lighter ripstop?

Jungmaven describes the Traverse Pant as the same cut in a different fabric. That makes it a useful comparison if the Pacific Coast silhouette appeals to you but the cloth is the sticking point.

Start with Pacific Coast when you want the heavier cloth. Put Traverse on the shortlist when lower fabric weight matters more. The published weight is a useful distinction; it does not measure the finished garment’s cooling, drying speed or durability. Check each product’s own chart, care label and current variant rather than assuming everything else is interchangeable.

Three ways to wear the Pacific Coast Pant

1. Coyote, a white tee and canvas sneakers

Keep the first outfit simple: coyote pants, a white tee and white or off-white sneakers. Let the straight leg fall naturally instead of trying to force a skinny-pant silhouette. A short cuff is an option if you prefer to show more of the shoe.

A Buck Mason Slub Classic Tee is one route; the Buck Mason guide gives more context on its basics. For footwear, start with the shapes in the SeaVees review, or use a clean canvas pair already in your closet.

2. Navy, a light tee and an open overshirt

Use navy pants as the base for a cream tee and a muted plaid overshirt. Keep the overshirt open so the light middle layer breaks up the outfit. Brown casual shoes or simple sneakers finish it without making the combination formal.

The Faherty Belmar Workshirt is an option from the Faherty review. The overshirt guide offers other cuts. Choose the top for the day’s weather rather than adding a heavy layer just to complete a look.

3. Olive, a cream knit polo and brown loafers

A cream knit polo and olive pants make a useful casual dinner combination. Keep the polo untucked if its hem sits well on you, and use brown suede loafers or understated sneakers. The softer top and shoes give the relaxed pant a more considered setting without turning it into tailoring.

The Todd Snyder review and polo guide are starting points for the top. These are styling suggestions; match the selected colors and pieces to what you own.

Washing and care

Jungmaven’s hemp care instructions call for a cool, gentle wash with like colors and low-heat tumble drying. The brand advises against bleach, enzyme cleaners and spot-treatment sprays, and warns about abrasion from textured towels, zippers and hook-and-loop fastenings. Follow the care label on the pair you receive.

Note the waist and inseam before the first wash, then measure the same points after washing and drying. Keep those measurements with your care notes so you can track how your own pair fits over time.

Check returns before choosing a sale color

Jungmaven’s U.S. return policy, checked October 19, accepts eligible new, unworn and unwashed merchandise with tags within 30 days of purchase. Without the optional return-protection purchase, a refund generally deducts a $7–$12 label fee; eligible exchanges and store-credit returns have no return-shipping fee. Final-sale items are excluded.

Check the selected variant’s final-sale status and current terms before paying. Try-on comes before washing if you may need a return. International terms differ; use the policy for your destination.

Common buying questions

Is the Pacific Coast Pant stretchy?

The published composition lists hemp and organic cotton, with no elastane. Choose it for the cut and cloth, rather than expecting the stretch of a technical trouser.

Should I size down?

Use this pant’s current chart and your measurements. A preference for a closer fit does not make sizing down reliable: the waist, seat, rise and thigh still need to work together.

Is it a summer pant?

Compare its substantial twill with the lighter Traverse before buying for hot weather. Your comfort will also depend on fit and conditions. Hemp content by itself is not a temperature rating.

Is it worth the price?

It belongs on your shortlist if you want this relaxed shape, fabric and waistband, and can use it with several outfits. If your main requirement is low weight or stretch, compare alternatives before paying for a pant built around different priorities.
